Lee’s Summit, MO (August 14, 2021) – On Saturday, August 14th, a collision between two vehicles on Interstate 470 in Jackson County left one person hospitalized.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol shows that the accident took place at about 12:55 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 470 in the area of Lakewood Boulevard in Lee’s Summit.
The crash occurred when a 2002 Suzuki, driven by a 22-year-old male from Pleasant Hill, and a 2019 Subaru, driven by a 45-year-old female from Kansas City, collided with one another. The force of the impact caused the rider to overturn and strike a median cable, which ejected him from his bike onto the asphalt.
The victim was transported by Lee’s Summit Fire to Centerpoint Hospital in moderate condition for medical treatment.
The driver of the car was unharmed during the incident.
