Mound City, MO (December 7, 2021) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Holt County left one man injured. At around 6:20 p.m., on December 5, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Interstate 29.
Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a 2017 Honda Accord was traveling northbound on Interstate 29. At the same time, a 2008 Ford F-150 was traveling northbound in the passing lane. For unknown reasons, the towed unit of the ford became unattached. However, the chains remained connected. The Ford then swerved into the path of the Honda and struck the vehicle.
The driver of the Honda, 73-year-old Wyman Mather, was injured in the accident. He was transported to Mosaic of St Joseph for further care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
