New Madrid, MO – Richard Stinson Loses Life in Crash on Route W

New Madrid, MO (November 14, 2021) – One man has lost his life following a truck accident in New Madrid on Friday evening, November 12. At around 5:45 p.m., authorities were called to the scene of a crash on Route W.

Reports from local authorities show that a 2011 Freightliner and a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 collided on Route W just 3 miles east of Kewanee.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 66-year-old Richard Stinson, sustained fatal injuries in the accident. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Freightliner, 30-year-old Gerald Scott, was transported to St. Francis Medical Center for care.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
