Franklin Township, MO (April 6, 2022) – One man has lost his life as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Franklin Township on Tuesday morning, April 5. At around 10:15 a.m., the Missouri State Highway Patrol was requested on-site at a crash on Missouri State Route 52.
Reports provided by authorities show that a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze and a 2010 Pontiac G6 collided on Missouri State Route 52, just 68-feet west of Meadowbrook Road. The impact of the crash left both vehicles totaled, requiring them to be towed from the scene.
The driver of the Pontiac, 57-year-old Steven Thompson, was fatally injured as a result of the crash. Thompson was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Chevrolet’s driver, 65-year-old Chester McComb, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Lake Regional Hospital for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
