Car Accidents in Missouri
No one can prepare for the aftermath of a motor vehicle accident. Unfortunately, over 55,000 people in our state are left injured every year as a result of crashes involving cars, trucks, and SUVs.
In many instances, victims are left with minor injuries from their accidents. However, we see many victims hospitalized with serious injuries that require emergency medical attention.
Some of the most severe injuries victims are left with following accidents in our state include:
Traumatic brain injuries: Brain injuries are often a result of objects coming in contact with the head with extreme force. The impact causes the brain to bounce off the inside of the skull, resulting in swelling, bleeding, and other injuries. TBIs can require extensive medical care and leave victims to suffer from pain indefinitely.
Neck injuries: Whiplash and other neck/soft tissue injuries can drastically limit a victim’s range of motion. These injuries often result in pain and suffering. Many victims are unable to lift and have problems returning to work.
Back injuries: Back injuries are one of the leading causes of disabilities following car accidents. These injuries can drastically impact a victim’s ability to work, lift, and perform various tasks. Back injuries often require extensive care as well.
Broken bones: arms, legs, hands, and feet are typically vulnerable during collisions. As a result, breaks to these bones are very common. Although some are small fractures that require only casting, there are instances where people suffer compound fractures that require surgery and various other treatments.
When victims sustain these and other injuries in accidents due to the negligence of others, they may have legal options available to help them recover. Seeking the assistance of a car accident lawyer in St Louis can help you get the justice you deserve following an accident.
