Washington Township, MO (August 7, 2022) – Several victims were hospitalized following a motor vehicle accident in Johnson County early Sunday morning. At around 1:10 a.m., on August 7, emergency crews were notified that a crash took place on Highway 50.
Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a 2017 Nissan rogue and a 2015 Toyota were both traveling eastbound on US Highway 50. For unknown reasons, the Nissan crashed into the rear of the Toyota. The impact of the crash caused the Nissan to go off the south side of the roadway and crashed into a tree.
A total of four people involved in the crash were injured. EMS rendered aid to 38-year-old Bridget Peters, 29-year-old Foster Allen, 28-year-old Jason Eckhart, and 21-year-old Kathryn Monk at the scene.
Monk and Allen were transported to Western Missouri hospital by EMS. Eckhart was transported by Life Flight to Research Medical Center for emergency treatment of serious injuries.
The crash is under investigation at this time.
