Joplin, MO (January 5, 2022) – At around 7 p.m., on January 3, emergency crews were called to the site of a motor vehicle accident in Newton County that left several people injured.
Reports from authorities show that a 2014 Dodge Journey and a 2011 Hyundai Sonata were involved in a rear-end collision on Gateway Drive just three miles south of Joplin. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage in the crash.
A total of five people were injured in this accident. EMS transported an infant male, a 10-year-old male, 29-year-old Benjamin Wethey, 31-year-old Marissa Foley, and 68-year-old Linda Foley to Mercy Hospital in Joplin for care.
At this time, the Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
