Nixa, MO (July 16, 2022) – A crash took place in Christian County just outside of Nixa that claimed one young boy’s life. At around 9:10 p.m., on July 13, the Missouri State Highway Patrol received a request for assistance at the scene of a severe motor vehicle collision that occurred on US Highway 160.
Investigative reports indicate that a 2015 Dodge Charger was traveling at a high rate of speed on US Highway 160 when he became involved in a crash with a 2017 Toyota Sienna after the 16-year-old driver of the Dodge ran a red light at the intersection with Northview Road.
The impact of the crash resulted in debris striking a 2013 Kia Soul.
A 9-year-old boy inside the Toyota suffered fatal injuries in the accident. The young child was pronounced deceased at the site of the accident. A total of four other people were transported to area hospitals for care. EMS transported a 12-year-old female, a 16-year-old male, and 18-year-old Spencer Davis to Cox South Hospital for further care. The fifth victim, 40-year-old Ashley Finley, was transported to Mercy Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation.
