St Charles, MO (July 10, 2022) – A motor vehicle accident involving two Toyotas send to people to area hospitals with injuries. At around five p.m., on July 9, the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a crash that occurred on Interstate 70.
Reports provided by local authorities show that a 2019 Toyota Tacoma and a 2014 Toyota Sienna collided on the westbound side of Interstate 70 near the ramp to Missouri State Route 94. The incident blocked the roadway, causing significant delays throughout the area. Preliminary investigations show that Tacoma was following too closely to the Sienna. As a result, the Tacoma crashed into the rear of the vehicle.
Two people in the Tacoma suffered injuries. EMS rendered aid to 80-year-old Sheilah Longhofer and 87-year-old Wayne Longhofer at the scene. The two victims were then transported to Barnes Jewish Hospital St. Peter’s by St. Charles County EMS.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with Sheilah Longhofer and Wayne Longhofer at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
