Springfield, MO (June 4, 2022) – Two people were transported to a local hospital with injuries following an auto accident in the Springfield area. At around 4:20 p.m., on June 1, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of an auto accident on Missouri State Route 266.
Reports from MSHP show that a collision between a 2012 Mazda 3 and a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee occurred on Missouri State Route 266 just two miles west of Springfield. The incident left both vehicles with significant damage, requiring them to be towed from the scene.
Two juvenile females inside the Mazda, a 6-year-old and a 16-year-old, were both injured in the crash. The victims were transported by EMS to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for further care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
