St Charles, MO (June 10, 2022) – A major motor vehicle accident reported in St. Charles left several people injured. At around 3:20 p.m., on June 7, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 70.
Reports provided by authorities show that a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica was traveling on the eastbound side of Interstate 70 when it struck a cable barrier near mile marker 207. The impact of the crash caused the Chrysler to travel into the eastbound lanes, where it collided with a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria and a 2012 Ford Escape. The Ford Crown Victoria when off the right side of the roadway. Ford Escape was then involved in a collision with a 2022 Freightliner Cascadia. All four vehicles suffered significant damage and had to be towed from the scene.
A total of five people involved in the accident were injured. The victims were identified as 45-year-old Robert Allen, 37-year-old Allison Binns, a 17-year-old male, and a 24-year-old female.
The 17-year-old teen and Binns were both transported by St. Charles County ambulance District to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis for medical care. Allen was transported to SSM Health Depaul Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries. The two children were transported by St. Charles County ambulance District to St. Louis Children’s Hospital for emergency medical treatment.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
