Poplar Bluff, MO (March 13, 2022) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Butler County sent one woman to an area hospital for the treatment of injuries on Thursday, March 9.
At around 6:10 p.m., the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident that took place on US Highway 67.
Reports from MSHP SGT R C Dye indicate that a rear-end collision between a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro and a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox occurred on the southbound side of US Highway 67 near Route M. The impact of the crash caused the Camaro to cross over the centerlines and crash into a 2019 Jeep Cherokee.
The driver of the Jeep, 43-year-old Stephanie Edwards, sustained injuries in the accident. Edwards was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional for further medical care.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation into the accident.
Our thoughts are with Stephanie Edwards at this time. We hope for her full recovery.
Car Accidents in Missouri
Every year, more than 55,000 victims are left injured from auto collisions throughout our state each year. Although many traffic-related incidents resolve with only minor injuries, thousands of people are hospitalized with life-threatening injuries that require emergency and ongoing care. Not only do we see victims lose their lives at an alarming rate in crashes across our state, but tens of thousands of people are left with serious injuries that require extensive medical care.
These crashes often force innocent victims into area hospitals where they have to undergo extensive medical treatment. Many victims require hospitalization and have to spend weeks or even months off work as they go through therapy and transition back into their normal routine.
Regrettably, many injured parties never recover from their injuries and are left permanently disabled and out of work. When people are injured in crashes as a result of other drivers, it is important that they seek the legal guidance of a Poplar Bluff car accident attorney as soon as possible. Victims may be entitled to compensation that can help cover the costs of care and other expenses moving forward.
