Ellsinore, MO (May 10, 2022) – A motor vehicle accident reported in the Ellsinore area sent multiple victims to area hospitals with injuries. At around 12:48 p.m., on May 8, emergency crews were dispatched to the site of a crash on US Highway 60.
Reports provided by authorities show that a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche was traveling on US Highway 60 west just six miles east of Ellsinore. For unknown reasons, the vehicle failed to yield the right of way to a 2019 Jeep Renegade. As a result, the two vehicles collided.
A total of five people in the Jeep were injured. EMS transported a 5-year-old male, a 9-year-old female, 28-year-old Aaron Shemonia, and 29-year-old Catherine Sertl to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for care. A 7-year-old female was transported by air ambulance to St Louis Children’s Hospital.
At this time, the cause of the crash is under investigation.
