Fatal Missouri Construction Accident Kills Justin Jokerst
A worker from Missouri was fatally injured in a construction site accident. Justin Jokerst, a 31-year-old resident of Perryville, MO., died after an accident involving a crane.
Jokerst was working at construction site in Edwardsville, Missouri on an enormous Grove HL150T crane at a building site. The jobsite, which located at 3951 Lakeview Corporate Drive, was being handled by Taylor Crane, Jokerst’s employer.
Accident reports from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch indicate that Jokerst was killed when he was horrifically crushed by the crane’s boom at 11 a.m. on Jan. 12.
He died at the scene and the cause of the accident is still under investigation. Construction site accidents and other work accidents are governed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Jokerst was helping to build a large commercial addition to an existing warehouse expected to provide 500,000 additional square feet.
