Clay Co, MO (December 25, 2020) – A collision between two vehicles that caused injuries to three people took place on Friday, December 25th on State Highway 92.
Incident reports show that the accident occurred at about 12:50 p.m. when a 2005 Ford Escape left the paved portion of the roadway, most likely due to inclement weather. In his effort to get back on the road he overcorrected and slid into the path of a 2008 Chevrolet.
The driver of the Ford, a 16-year-old male from Smithville, sustained serious injuries during the collision. He was transported via ambulance to North Kansas City Hospital.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 39-year-old male from Lawson, endured minor injuries during the crash and declined treatment at the scene.
The passenger in the Chevrolet, a 78-year-old male, also from Lawson, suffered serious injuries and was also taken to North Kansas City Hospital.
