Grain Valley, MO (August 4, 2021) – Two police officers were injured after assisting at the scene of a crash in Grain Valley on Tuesday, August 3.
The incident occurred on Buckner-Tarsney Road early that morning at around 4:42 a.m. An officer on patrol reportedly found a vehicle parked on the roadway with a man inside. He was believed to be on drugs and was taken in on a 24-hour hold.
Two officers were inspecting the contents of the vehicle when they found a container. One of the officers opened the container, causing both officials to be overwhelmed by the fumes. Both officers were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Hazmat was called to the scene and the vehicle was towed to a lot.
