Jefferson Co, MO (August 16, 2021) – A collision involving three vehicles on Highway 61 in Jefferson County sent two men to the hospital on the afternoon of Monday, August 16th.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash took place in the area of Manderly Court when 51-year-old Robert Koester, a resident of Festus, was driving southbound and, for reasons that have yet to be determined, veered directly into the path of an oncoming 2005 Ford F-150 driven by 65-year-old Darrell Boyer, a resident of Park Hills, causing the two vehicles to collide.
Due to the force of the impact, Koester’s 1994 Ford F-150 was propelled backward and struck the front end of a 2016 Honda Civic driven by a 17-year-old.
Koester was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Mercy Hospital South in serious condition.
Boyer was taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson with injuries classified as moderate.
The 17-year-old was unharmed during the incident.
