Kansas City, MO (July 29, 2021) – Deputies from the Miami County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene to investigate a fatal crash that took place on Thursday, July 29th on 343rd Street in between Victory Road and Columbia Road in Kansas City.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling westbound along 343rd Street when, for reasons that have yet to be determined, it left the paved portion of the roadway. The driver then overcorrected, re-entered traffic, and went off the other side of the road.
The driver then overcorrected once more, causing the vehicle to overturn and eject the passenger, who has since been identified as 46-year-old Joie D. King, a resident of Paola, KS.
King died at the scene.
