Kansas City, MO (August 16, 2021) – Officers from the Independence Police Department were on the scene to investigate after a pedestrian was fatally struck by a car on Monday, August 16th.
The crash took place at about 12:40 p.m. at the intersection of State Highway 291 and 23rd Street.
Crash investigators determined that the driver of a Chevrolet Malibu was traveling southbound along State Highway 291 when it made contact with the pedestrian.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a local medical facility but ultimately passed away due to their injuries.
No additional injuries have been reported.
