Kansas City, MO (August 09, 2021) – A driver lost control of their vehicle and slammed into a 7-Eleven convenience store on Monday, August 9th in Kansas City.
When police arrived at the store, located near Independence Avenue and Highland Avenue, they discovered the entire car sitting inside the store.
Investigators stated that the driver lost control of her car, causing it to travel off the roadway, jump a curb, and knock down a street light before crashing into the business and destroying the front of the store.
The car also crashed into the counter inside the store. Officials reported that the impact knocked over the counter, trapping the store clerk underneath. The clerk was taken by paramedics to a local hospital in serious condition.
The driver was also transported with injuries that were non-critical.
The two customers that were in the store at the time of the accident sustained minor injuries that did not require medical treatment although one did help himself to two beers before leaving the scene.
Investigators haven’t said what caused the driver to lose control.
