Maryville, MO (August 07, 2021) – On Friday, April 6th, a fatal two-car accident took place on US-71 in Nodaway County.
The deceased has since been identified as 88-year-old James M. Boyles, a resident of Maryville.
Reports show that the crash occurred at about 7:35 p.m. at the intersection of Route M and US-71, just outside of Maryville, as a 2008 Ford Fusion, driven by a 19-year-old male from Columbus, NB., was traveling southbound on US-71 at the same time that a 2007 Chevrolet 2500 was heading eastbound along 380th Street and the two vehicles collided with one another in the intersection.
Boyles, who was driving the Chevrolet, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transported by Nodaway County Ambulance to Price Funeral Home in Maryville.
No report was made on the condition of the other driver.
Officers confirmed that both drivers were properly restrained when the accident occurred.
