Mount Vernon, MO (August 09, 2021) – A driver and passenger both sustained injuries during a single-car accident on Sunday, August 8th.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash took place at about 8:45 p.m. on Interstate 44, just outside of Mount Vernon in Lawrence County when, for reasons that have yet to be determined, an eastbound pick-up truck that was towing a trailer overturned.
Reports show that the vehicle’s passenger, 20-year-old Carlie A. Holmes, a resident of Galena, was transported by paramedics to Mercy Hospital Springfield in serious condition.
The driver, 21-year-old Dustin S. Barton, sought his own treatment for the minor injuries he received during the incident.
