Sni-A-Bar Township, MO (August 17, 2021) – On Monday, August 16th, a single-vehicle crash in Lafayette County resulted in the serious injury and hospitalization of three teenagers.
The accident occurred at about 7:00 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Main Street in the area of Golden Belt Road.
An initial investigation showed that a 2004 Chevrolet being driven by a 23-year-old male from Oak Grove was traveling southbound along Main Street when, for reasons that have yet to be determined, the vehicle left the paved portion of the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned.
Two of the vehicle’s occupants, 13-year-old and 17-year-old females, also from Oak Grove, were both seriously injured during the impact. Both were taken to Centerpoint Hospital, the younger by SNI Valley Emergency Medical Services and the older by Odessa Emergency Medical Services.
The third occupant, an 18-year-old male from Oak Grove, was transported by Johnson County Emergency Medical Services to Lafayette County Regional Hospital.
The driver of the Chevrolet was unharmed during the incident.
