Cape Girardeau, MO (December 16, 2021) – One person was transported to a local hospital with injuries following a motor vehicle accident in Cape Girardeau. At around 3:40 p.m., on December 15, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Route W.
Reports from authorities show that a rear-end collision between a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze and a 2011 Lexus IS350 occurred on Route W just one mile north of Cape Girardeau. The incident left both vehicles with moderate damage.
A 17-year-old male passenger in the Chevrolet sustained injuries. The teen was transported by ambulance to St Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
