Cooper, MO (December 22, 2021) – Two men were left with moderate injuries following a motor vehicle accident in Cooper on Tuesday afternoon. At around 1 p.m., on December 21, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was requested on-site at a crash on Interstate 70.
Reports from authorities show that a 2003 Volvo C-70 was traveling on the westbound side of Interstate 70 when the vehicle went off the road near mile marker 105.6. The crash left both vehicles with extensive damage.
The drivers of both vehicles were injured. EMS transported 23-year-old Darrin Welschmeyer and 57-year-old Kenneth New to University Hospital for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
