Pedestrian Accidents in Missouri

Car accidents in the state of Missouri leave tens of thousands of people with injuries each year. In many cases, victims are rushed from the scene of their accidents to local hospitals for emergency medical care. After going through emergency surgery, many victims have to spend weeks off work to recover. Although most people are careful and are considerate of other motorists sharing the road, we see many crashes take place due to driver error. This is especially true in accidents involving pedestrians. In fact, over 80% of traffic-related incidents involve some form of negligence.

In Missouri, some of the leading causes of crashes include:

  • Drivers who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Drivers who are speeding
  • Drivers who fail to yield the right of way
  • Drivers who are distracted by phones and other objects

These and other acts of negligence often lead to life-altering crashes that force victims out of work for several weeks. When victims are harmed in accidents, through no fault of their own, they may have legal options available to recover. Working with a responsive Eldon pedestrian accident attorney can help to ensure you are in the best position possible to get justice.
