Franklin, MO (December 7, 2021) – An auto accident reported in Franklin County left one woman seriously injured. At around 7:45 a.m., on December 6, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Interstate 44.
Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol indicate that a crash between a 2008 Nissan Sentra and a 2016 International box truck occurred on the northbound side of Interstate 44 near mile marker 247.7. The impact of the crash caused the Nissan to go off the north side of the road and overturn. Debris from the vehicle struck a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse, prompting the vehicle to stop at the scene.
The driver of the Nissan, 39-year-old Christy Meier, sustained serious injuries in the accident. She was transported to Mercy Hospital Washington for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
