Jackson, MO (December 23, 2021) – An auto accident reported in Jackson County left one woman with moderate injuries. Just before midnight on December 22, calls for assistance came in surrounding an accident on Interstate 470.
Reports provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a 2016 Kia Forte and an unknown vehicle were both traveling north on Interstate 470. For unknown reasons, the unknown vehicle sideswiped the Kia near Missouri State Highway 291. The impact of the crash caused the Kia to go off the road, crash through a fence, and land in a ditch.
The driver of the Kia, 31-year-old Kayla Kemmerer, sustained moderate injuries in the crash. She was rushed to Centerpoint Medical Center for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with Kayla Kemmerer at this time. We hope for her full recovery.
