New Madrid, MO (December 1, 2021) – One person was left with injuries as a result of a two-vehicle accident in New Madrid on Tuesday morning, November 30. At around 11:20 a.m., calls for assistance came in surrounding a crash on US Highway 61.
Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a 2012 Ford Focus was traveling in the area of US Highway 61 and Highway U when the driver of the vehicle failed to yield the right of way to a 2020 Ford Fusion. As a result, the two vehicles collided.
The driver of the 2020 Ford Fusion, 51-year-old Shanna Berger, sustained injuries in the crash. She was transported to a local hospital for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
