St Louis, MO (December 2, 2021) – Two people were left with serious injuries as a result of a multi-vehicle collision in St Louis on Monday afternoon, November 29. Just after 1 p.m., authorities were requested on-site at a crash on Interstate 55.
Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a 2011 Ford F-350, a 2013 Toyota Highlander, a 2004 Honda Accord, and a 2020 Ford Escape were all traveling north on Interstate 55. As the F-350 slowed down behind a MODOT vehicle, the 2013 Highlander slowed down as well.
The Honda then slowed to avoid a collision with the Ford and the Toyota. However, it was struck from behind by the Escape. The impact of the crash caused the Honda to crash into the rear of the Toyota. The Toyota then struck the rear of the F-350.
Two people involved in the crash were injured. 33-year-old Jeremy Rusert and 77-year-old Lawrence Meyers were both transported to Mercy Hospital South for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with Jeremy Rusert and Lawrence Meyers at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
