St Louis, MO (December 1, 2021) – A multi-vehicle truck accident reported on Interstate 44 claimed one man’s life and left two others injured on Monday evening, November 29.
At around 9:55 p.m., a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling on Interstate 44 when it became involved in a collision with a 2013 Peterbilt 389 just east of Missouri State Highway 141. The Jeep then continued forward and collided with a 2021 Freightliner Cascadia before striking a 2014 Lexus RX350.
The driver of the Jeep, 75-year-old Michael Branlett, sustained fatal injuries in the accident and died at the scene.
Two people in the Lexus, identified as 73-year-old Peggy Cantrell and 74-year-old Steven Cantrell, were both injured. The two victims were transported to Mercy Hospital in St Louis for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
