Steele, MO (December 12, 2021) – An auto accident reported on Friday morning, December 10, claimed one man’s life. At around 8 a.m., authorities were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Interstate 55.
Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a collision between a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 and a 2019 Freightliner tractor-trailer occurred on the southbound side of Interstate 55 near mile marker 2.4.
The incident resulted in the Chevrolet going off the right side of the road.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 39-year-old Matthew Frias, sustained fatal injuries in the accident. Frias was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
