Wardell, MO (December 26, 2021) – Several people were transported to area hospitals with injuries following an accident in Pemiscot County. At around 2 a.m., on December 26, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Interstate 55.
Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria collided with a 1994 Ford Ranger on the southbound side of Interstate 55 in the area near mile marker 26.
The impact of the crash caused the Ford to collide with a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban. All three vehicles were left with moderate damage.
A total of six people involved in the crash were injured. EMS transported 34-year-old Keith Spriggs, an 8-year-old female, and a 7-year-old female to Pemiscot Memorial Hospital for care.
48-year-old Jennifer Evans was transported by ambulance to Missouri Delta Hospital in Sikeston. Two other victims, 69-year-old Maria Carmona and 74-year-old Isaac Razo were transported to St Francis Hospital.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
