Mt. Vernon, MO (February 26, 2021) – On Thursday, February 25th, a serious two-car accident took place on Highway 39, just outside of Mt. Vernon in Dade County.
The crash occurred at about 6:15 p.m. when a 2007 Ford Focus swerved into the oncoming lane of traffic and collided headfirst with a 2011 Hyundai Elantra.
The driver of the Focus, a 22-year-old female from Marshfield, sustained serious injuries during the impact. She was transported by Mercy Air to Cox South Hospital.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 29-year-old female from Verona, also suffered major injuries and was transported by Cox Air to Mercy Hospital.
