Springfield, MO (February 24, 2021) – A fatal, single-vehicle accident took place on Tuesday, February 23rd in the northbound lanes of Route D, just outside of Springfield in Greene County.
Sources state that at about 8:05 p.m., a 1998 Ford Taurus driven by 32-year-old West-Lee Woodruff, a resident of Springfield, failed to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle veered off the paved portion of the roadway and overturned.
Woodruff was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passenger, a 23-year-old female, also from Springfield, sustained injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. She was transported via ambulance to Cox South Hospital.
