Blackwater Township, MO (January 10, 2021) – An accident responsible for the deaths of two people took place on Saturday, January 9th in Lafayette County.
Police reports show that the crash occurred at about 10:40 p.m. on Highway D, just south of Northeast State Highway FF when a 2014 Ford F150 pick-up truck failed to successfully negotiate a turn, causing it to veer off the roadway and crash into a Chevron sign. The pick-up then went airborne and smashed into a tree before finally flipping over and coming to rest on its roof.
The driver of the truck, 39-year-old Sean Standeford, a resident of Oak Grove, and his passenger, 28-year-old Samantha Schell, a resident of Holden, were pronounced dead at the scene at 11:10 p.m. by the deputy coroner.
