Buchanan Co, MO (July 20, 2021) – A woman sustained injuries during a two-vehicle collision in Buchanan County on the afternoon of Monday, July 18th.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says that the accident took place on the southbound exit ramp that leads from Interstate 29 to Frederick Avenue when a vehicle driven by 37-year-old Kara L. McCartney, a resident of Lee’s Summit, was heading southbound.
Law enforcement officers stated that McCartney had come to a stop at a yield sign when her vehicle was struck in the rear-end by another vehicle going southbound driven by 40-year-old Mitchell W. Coffelt, a resident of Maryville.
McCartney was transported by local Emergency Medical Technicians to a local hospital for medical treatment. Her injuries were classified as non-life-threatening.
Troopers reported no injury information for Coffelt.
Officers reported that everyone involved in the crash was properly restrained at the time it occurred.
