Joplin, MO (July 06, 2021) – Two teenagers were injured during a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday, July 6th in Newton County.
The accident took place at about 2:30 p.m. on Five Mile Road, just outside of Joplin.
The driver, 18-year-old Ruby L. Gilion, a resident of Seneca, and her passenger, a 17-year-old girl from Wyandotte, OK., were transported by paramedics to Freeman Hospital West with injuries classified as non-critical.
They were traveling eastbound when the car left the roadway on a sharp curve and crashed into a fence and a tree.
