Kansas City, MO (July 30, 2021) – According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a Missouri Department of Transportation worker was taken to the hospital on Friday morning, July 30, following a crash that occurred on Interstate 470.
Officers with the MoDOT in Kansas City said that a crew’s truck was hit by a driver entering the highway on an on-ramp. The driver was reportedly trying to pass the crews on the ramp and speeding. EMS units responded to the scene shortly after the incident happened and transported the worker to an area medical center in serious condition. Their current condition, as well as their identifying information, is unknown.
There was no immediate word on charges or citations pending. However, officers continue to investigate the crash at this time.
