Kansas City, MO – Driver Hits, Kills Pedestrian on I-435 at Front St

Kansas City, MO (July 20, 2021) – A pedestrian was struck by a car and killed in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 20th in Kansas City.

According to police, at about 1:00 a.m., officers and first response crews reported to the scene in an area near Interstate 435 and Front Street after being notified of a vehicle crash involving a potential pedestrian fatality.

Emergency teams closed off the exit and entrance ramps leading to the interstate from Front Street as well as all northbound lanes of travel on Interstate 435.

An investigation determined that a red Mercedes was driving northbound on I-435, in the area of Front Street, when it collided with a pedestrian who was walking alongside the roadway.

The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene.

This accident is under investigation by Kansas City law enforcement officers.
