Morgan Co, MO (July 08, 2021) – A car accident occurred on Wednesday, July 7th at about 5:00 p.m. that caused serious injuries to three people.
Police reports stated that the vehicles were driving along Highway 5 in the area of the Route TT North junction when a Kia Optima came to a stop to make a lefthand turn when the following pick-up truck failed to stop and struck the Kia from behind.
The impact caused the Kia to skid off the righthand side of the roadway. The truck kept going and slid off the lefthand side of the road. One of the vehicles struck several small trees and ended up in a ditch.
The two occupants of the Kia, 20-year-old Candace Shultz, and a juvenile, were both seriously injured and taken by paramedics to Lake Regional Hospital.
The driver of the pick-up truck, 75-year-old Doris Busen, was also taken to Lake Regional in serious condition.
