Seneca, MO – Crystal Ward Killed, One Seriously Injured After Crash on MO-43

Seneca, MO (July 27, 2021) – A woman who was involved in a two-vehicle accident on the afternoon of Monday, July 26th succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday morning.

A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says that 32-year-old Crystal Ward, a resident of Seneca, died after she sustained serious injuries during a collision on State Highway 43 on Monday at about 4:40 p.m. when the vehicle she was riding in pulled directly into the path of a utility truck.

Ward passed away Tuesday morning at a hospital in Joplin.

The driver of the car, 35-year-old Stephine Langland, also sustained very serious injuries in the accident and was med flighted to a hospital in Kansas City. Her current condition is unknown.

A 14-year-old girl who was also riding in the car sustained injures believed to be non-critical.

Langland’s support dog, Diamond, was in the vehicle as well and is still missing.
