Butterfield, MO (June 10, 2021) – One woman was killed during a three-car crash on Tuesday, June 8th in Butterfield.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred at about 11:30 a.m. along Highway 37, just outside of Butterfield when, according to police, a van failed to yield the right-of-way and turned in front of another car causing the two vehicles to collide. The force from the impact caused the van to slam into another vehicle in the oncoming lane of traffic.
The driver of the second vehicle, who has since been identified as 74-year-old Linda Gunter, a resident of Monett, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Her passenger, 42-year-old Sammie Gunter, was also transported to an area medical facility with serious injuries.
