Christiana, MO (June 14, 2021) – Two people sustained injuries during a two-car accident on Monday, June 14th. The crash took place on County Road P in the area of Lars Hill Road in the town of Christiana.

Police reports show that 31-year-old Brett Blondin, a resident of Cashton, was driving eastbound along County Road P when he became distracted and swerved over the centerline. At that time, a 17-year-old female and resident of Westby was heading westbound on County Road P and was unable to avoid Blondin’s vehicle.

Blondin and Dunnum collided almost head-on. The impact launched Dunnum’s car down an embankment where it overturned multiple times, before finally coming to rest on its roof in a nearby field.

The airbags in both vehicles were deployed and both drivers were wearing a seat belt. Dunnum was transported by Tri-State Ambulance to Vernon Memorial Hospital for emergency medical treatment.

Blondin was taken into custody for the intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
