Pettis Co, MO - Christina Rice Killed, Teen Airlifted Following Crash on 32nd St
Pettis Co, MO (March 13, 2021) - A three-car collision that took place in Pettis County left one person dead and two teenagers injured on Saturday, March 13th.
Reports show that the accident occurred at about 3:55 p.m. on 32nd Street in the area of Rissler Road when a 1990 Ford swerved to avoid rear-ending a 2013 Toyota as it slowed down to yield to an oncoming 2007 Saturn as they approached a narrow bridge. As the Ford swerved, it sideswiped the Toyota and collided head-first with the Saturn. The impact caused the Saturn to leave the roadway and overturn.
The driver of the Saturn, 33-year-old Christina M. Rice of Sedalia, was transported to Bothwell Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Her passenger, a 13-year-old female, was airlifted to the University of Columbia Medical Center in serious condition.
The driver of the Ford, a 16-year-old male from Sedalia, sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the impact. The driver of the Toyota, also a 16-year-old male from Sedalia, was unharmed.
