Pettis Co, MO – Two Seriously Injured When Thrown From Car During Wreck on Rt B

Categorized as Auto Accidents

Pettis Co, MO (March 09, 2021) – Two women were left in serious condition after being thrown from their vehicle during a single-car accident on Tuesday, March 9th in Pettis County.

28-year-old Shyla Cranmer was driving along Route B, in the area of Sacajawea Road at about 12:00 a.m. Reports show that she was going too fast for road conditions and, at one point, overcorrected, which caused the vehicle to leave the roadway, overturn multiple times, and throw both Cranmer and her passenger, 33-year-old Jessica Sellers, from the vehicle before it finally came to a stop in the middle of the roadway.

Both Sellers and Cranmer were transported via ambulance to University Hospital in serious condition.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop A was aided on the scene by Troop C and the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Serious Passenger Injuries in Pettis County

Anytime a Missouri car accident causes injuries to a passenger, the passenger may not know where to go for help and how to obtain financial compensation for their injuries. Missouri abides by fault-based/comparative negligence insurance laws where car accidents are concerned.

Passengers, however, are never involved in the comparative negligence phase of a car accident claim due to the fact that they can’t be held responsible for any portion of the incident. In terms of which insurance policy an injured passenger should solicit for financial compensation, automobile insurance laws can be complicated.

When victims are injured in accidents resulting from the negligence of other motorists, it is important that they seek legal guidance as soon as possible. Victims may be entitled to compensation that can help cover the costs of care and other expenses moving forward.
