Wrongful Deaths in Hillsboro
Wrongful death is a death that is caused by the action, inaction, or negligence of a person or business. In Missouri, wrongful death is defined as “the death of a person result[ing] from any act, conduct, occurrence, transaction or circumstance which, if death had not ensued, would have entitled such person to recover damages in respect thereof.” Wrongful deaths can include circumstances such as a person killed by a driver who ran a red light, a passenger who dies due to negligence on the part of the driver, or a doctor making a mistake that causes the death of their patient.
Bringing a claim of wrongful death could possibly ensure that you receive much-needed financial compensation that will help you pay for hospital bills, funeral expenses, and help grieving members of your family get the counseling they need. This financial compensation could also go towards your child’s education and many other responsibilities your deceased family member would have contributed to.
