Johnson Co, MO (May 9, 2021) – On Tuesday, May 4, an Independence woman was injured after being involved in a pileup collision in Johnson County.
The accident occurred at the intersection of MO-13 and NE 950th Road at around 10:30 a.m. that morning. According to local reports, 44-year-old Julie R. Gunter was traveling northbound in a 2004 Honda Accord at the time of the crash. It was then that Gunter hit a dump truck that was making a turn onto NE 950th Road.
The impact caused her vehicle to leave the roadway and enter and NE 950th Road, where Gunter crashed into a 1998 Buick Lesabre driven by 42-year-old Nicholas J. Stewart of Warrensburg. The Accord also collided with a 2019 Dodge Ram pickup.
Gunter was treated at the scene for sustained injuries. The conditions of the other involved parties were not immediately reported.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
