Tipton, MO - Karen Overmiller Killed in Four-Car Accident on US-50 at Hwy 5
Tipton, MO (May 12, 2021) - One woman was killed and another critically injured during a four-car accident on Wednesday, May 12th in Morgan County.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of State Highway 50 and Highway 5 in Tipton.
Investigators stated that an SUV driven by Karen Overmiller, a resident of Four Seasons, was attempting to pass another SUV waiting to make a lefthand turn when she accidentally sideswiped the vehicle and crossed over the centerline. Overmiller’s SUV then collided with a tractor-trailer and another SUV before coming to a stop.
Overmiller was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say the final car involved in the crash was driven by a woman from Eldon who was transported to University Hospital in Columbia in serious condition.
Three of the four cars in the crash, including the semi-truck, were totaled.
