Columbia Township, MO (November 12, 2021) – On November 10, the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that sent one man to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Reports from MSHP show that around 4:30 p.m., a 2003 Ford E-150, driven by 36-year-old Tyler Sell, attempted to cross southbound Missouri Route 764 when it collided with a 2009 Yamaha FZ6R, driven by 24-year-old William Richmond, at the intersection of Boone Industrial Boulevard.
Richmond sustained serious injuries in the accident. He was transported to University Hospital for emergency medical care.
At this time, investigations surrounding the accident are underway.
Our thoughts are with William Richmond at this time. We hope for his full recovery.
Motorcycle Accidents in Missouri
Thousands of motorists are involved in collisions throughout the state of Missouri each year. Although not all accidents end in catastrophic injuries, a fair share of these accidents do force victims into area hospitals. Motorcyclists are at an increased risk of being harmed due to the fact that they are completely exposed during collisions. When victims break their bones or suffer traumatic head or neck injuries, they often need multiple surgeries and have to spend months off their feet or go to therapy.
Not being able to work while being overwhelmed with tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills not only impacts victims but their families as well. It does not seem right that victims who are injured in accidents as a result of the actions of others are forced to spend substantial amounts of money on treatment.
When victims are hurt in motorcycle accidents as a result of other motorists, our state allows them to file legal claims against wrongdoers to recover compensation for the financial burdens they endure. Injured parties can benefit immensely by consulting with a motorcycle accident attorney in Columbia Township who is well-versed in personal injury laws in our state.
